Tithes and Offerings

Be Part of Supporting Sønderborg Free Church

Giving to the Church

The church’s economy is based on voluntary contributions from its members and participants. We do not set any expectations or requirements regarding how much anyone should give — that decision is entirely up to the individual. We are deeply grateful for every gift that is given.

We believe and teach that generosity is good for us as people. When we give, we do not give to a project — we give to God. We believe that Sønderborg Free Church has been given the privilege of being part of what God is doing in Sønderborg, in Denmark, and around the world. Your gift helps make possible the things we believe God has placed on our church’s heart to do.

If you would like to give financially to the church, you can:

Give through your bank: Reg. no.: 1569 Account no.: 11930514 (Danske Bank)
Give during Sunday services: You can give cash in the offering or via MobilePay 81879.

You will also find that offerings are sometimes collected during services for special projects — such as the children’s ministry, building maintenance, mission work, or guest speakers.

If you wish to receive tax deductions for your giving, we need your personal information. Contact us directly at info@sonderborgfrikirke.dk or +45 61 18 83 23 if you want this.

You can also contact our treasurer, Susanne, at susanne@sonderborgfrikirke.dk for assistance.

The Foundation – Jesus, Generosity, and a Giving Heart

The foundation we build our church upon is Jesus. In the early church, we read that generosity was a defining characteristic of God’s people — a people who had encountered God and experienced His love, grace, and acceptance. We are that people.

God’s love, grace, and acceptance have been given to us freely — and those who have received freely are called to give freely. It matters to God how we steward our money and our resources.

The Walls – Tithing

The tithe forms the walls that give structure and stability to the church’s vision and mission. Tithing is about honoring God and putting Him first — giving Him the first of what we receive. For us, tithing is also about shared responsibility — for the house, for one another, for the vision, and for the community. Tithing is about giving freely and joyfully, without control or recognition.

It’s about giving regularly and according to one’s ability — giving what you have faith to give. Include your spouse, and give together. It’s better to be faithful in small things than to start with a promise you can’t keep — or not start at all.

The Roof – Designated Gifts

The roof represents what we give beyond the tithe — special gifts for missions, guest speakers, or larger projects. These gifts are beautiful, good, and biblical, yet the church’s financial foundation is built upon the foundation and the walls.
