Mission
Being Sent!
To be part of the Apostolic Church is also to see ourselves as sent. Not only sent to the people around us or to the city we live in – but also sent to share our bread with the hungry and to be a spring of life to the nations. For that reason, we support several areas in a special way. In November, we place a particular focus on mission – but our desire is that it remains part of who we are throughout the entire year. You can read about the two projects we especially support below.
Equipped for Life
Equipped for Life works with mission in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. The project is led by Maria and Filip, who through their work with Pulse and the Equipped for Life Leadership Academy (ELA) help young people build a future filled with hope, purpose, work, and a life with Jesus.
Pulse is a six-week development program for young people that combines Christian values with personal and professional training. The goal is to give participants a solid foundation in faith in Jesus while helping them grow in confidence, change their mindset, and gain skills that equip them for the next step in life – whether in work or education. ELA is Equipped for Life’s Bible school – an intensive training program that combines theological teaching, spiritual growth, and practical equipping. The vision is to establish a full-time residential Bible school that, with faith in Jesus as its foundation, equips students for leadership, evangelism, and church planting.
Sønderborg Free Church regularly takes up offerings to support the work in South Africa. You can also choose to give regularly through the church to support this ministry.
Sult og Kulde - MotherCare
MotherCare is a local association under AKO (Apostolic Church Relief Organization). Each year, Sønderborg Free Church sets aside a special collection for the "Hunger and Cold" project in Romania. During the service, we hear updates about the work in Romania and learn how the aid is distributed. The collection usually takes place in November, so keep an eye on the church calendar and newsletter to see when you can take part and contribute.
You can also choose to give regularly by becoming a sponsor for a family.
